Arnott - Pozzo
Stewart has been a theatre artist for almost 30 years, and has acted and
directed across the country. In 2007, he directed "Amadeus" for Theatre
Aquarius in Hamilton; a new play by Martin Julien, "Home Free" (which he also
dramaturged) for the SummerWorks Festival; and remounted Allen MacInnis’
production of "Hana’s Suitcase" for LKTYP. He has also had wonderful, ongoing
relationships (in both his capacities) with Prairie Theatre Exchange in Winnipeg
("Kilt", "Master Harold and the Boys", "Strawberries in January") and the Great
Canadian Theatre Co. in Ottawa ("Patience", "It’s All True", "Unity 1918").
Acting highlights have included being a company member over multiple seasons
with the Stratford Festival, the Atlantic Theatre Festival and Autumn/Necessary
Angel Theatre Company. Stewart played The Teacher in Soheil Parsa’s acclaimed
production of "Stories from the Rains of Love and Death". Recent appearances
onstage include Brendan Gall’s "The Card Trick", one of the four “Gladstone
Variations” plays in The Fringe ’07, starring in the Canadian premiere of "The
Goat" (GCTC), David Mamet's "Romance" (Pilot Productions) and "The Last Days of
Judas Iscariot" (Birdland Prod.). Television and film appearances have included
"Regenesis", "Angela's Eyes", “The Third Eye” and “Love, Sex and Eating the
Bone”.
Stewart is also a teacher and a coach.
