Acting
Workshop 2007
For
the Acting Workshop 2007,
participants were asked to choose or write a short monologue,
poem, or bring in a movement piece on the subject
of “home”.
This year Dr. Judith Rudakoff of the Theatre Department at York
University was a
special guest. In conjunction with Soheil Parsa and in the context of the workshop's acting study, she led
the participants in transcultural exercises using text, sound and
visual collage as a springboard for individual artistic interpretation.
Collaborating with the participants and Dr. Rudakoff, Soheil dramaturged the pieces and montaged
them into a rough narrative for final presentation, leading the students through
a series of explorations with music, movement and text inspired by a mixture of
theatrical techniques.
The
artists this year included Roshan Ahmadvand, Kate Fenton, Vida Ghahremani, Sina
Gilani, Ginette Mohr, Sanaz Rasouli, and Siavash Shabanpour.
